I've noticed that William Windsor likes spending a lot of time at the in-laws and chatters a lot about how his own style is deliberately "less formal" than the preceding generation of "royals". Interesting to speculate about the relationship between the Mids and the Winds. Don't recall seeing reports of visits to Bucklebury by Charlie and Cam. Make a nice speculative drama piece, I think. Charlie has the reputation for demanding obsequiousness and the walking out of the room backwards when in his "presence" and as we know, Mike Mid is a self-made and capable man rather than one being born into privelege whilst assuming superiority...

I'm acquainted with Kate's uncle. He's an interesting chap. Can't imagine he spends much time at Balmoral.

Was a piece on R4 today about the Windsors deliberately making themselves appear middle class now.

Choice of photographer and location a clear part of that strategy of aligning themselves with the aspirational middle classes.

Very short sighted strategy that, Her Majesty's government is hell bent on destroying the middle class and making everyone working class (with the exception of their millionaire chums).

We may be moving towards a more Scandinavian model of monarchy.
