Meantime Brewery in Charlton do a Chocolate Stout. It is an acquired taste, I'd say. It's sold in The Union on Royal Hill in Greenwich, and one or two other places. I think it might be available in some Sainsburgs and Waitroses.

Mmm...beeeeeeeerrrr........

Ernie you're such a philistine. Chocolate has been used for billions of years, in many cultures throughout the World. The muck they call 'chocolate' that is common over here, has about 2% actual chocolate or Cacao in it, the rest is sugar, fat, lard and polystyrene. And pigs' testicles.

Proper chocolate is quite bitter, and lends itself well to a beverage like Stout. It isn't an 'easy' pint, mind; one for sipping slowly, in front of an open fire, in the depths of Winter. Throw another street urchin onto the fire...

Meantime do a Raspberry Beer; not to everyone's taste, but a particular favourite of mine, on a warm summer evening, as the sun slips below the gallows arm...

Talkemada, you're such a philistine.

Chocolate beer has nothing to do with chocolate. It is about "chocolate malt", it's all about the malts used to brew.

Some chocolate stouts are actually brewed with a small amount of chocolate.

Bakatcha, and get polishing my silver, you peasant. Who gave you permission to stand on two legs and speak?

Ever worked in a brewery, Talkemada? I have. 😉

Oh, and how about learning how to use an apostrophe? 😉

Worked in a brewery? Worked in a brewery, son? I tell you what, after that Chinese I've had, I've got something brewing up all right...

I know nothing of this apostrophe of which you speak...

Meantime, I understand, has a little chocolate added to the mix. So there!

See that, Kevevs? Thinks he's posh, but we all know he just reads ****ler in the bogs of that hotel he works at! Ha!

Come down here and have a few pints, if you think you're hard enough!

That raspberry stuff is quite strong. 'Nominal' strength of 6% or so, but it's more like 7 and over. Lovely. Organic, mind, so can make one a little 'windy'.

Decent beer has been drunk down south since before those in the North learned how to make fire... 😉

My mum LOVES Sam Smiths Taddy Porter. The landlord of my local gave her a bottle on her birthday, which was a lovely gesture.

You dirty, disgusting heathen scum.

The Holy Koran says :

"You who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, idols, and raffles, are only a filthy work of Satan; turn aside from them so that you may prosper. Satan only wants to stir up enmity and jealousy among you by means of intoxicants and gambling, and to hinder you from remembering God, and from praying. So will you not then abstain?"
(Koran 5:90-91)

Say NO to Satan.

And YES to Mecca-Cola......
