jam pie? Ain't that what you do with excess pastry after making a proper pie?
Just foldered over pastry with jam or lemon curd in it....mmmmmm

Hehe, I remember my mum would always do one with the leftover pastry from the apple tart. "Now, don't eat that till it's cooled down". Cue blisters on the roof of my mouth...I just couldn't wait.

tart is a lattice or open top, a pie has a covered top, now due to lack of pastry it's turned into a giant tart
