I have a GX200 which is great but I miss decent zoom and a flip out lcd.

I'm a bit skint so an thinking of a sh G5 or 6 or Powershot A640 (had latter before and loved it).

is the slowness of these going to hack me off or is there a good chance they wouldn't last long?

Or any other ideas? I really want the flip out screen, not bothered about pixel count.

Alternative cheapo option with several obvious restrictions, but perhaps useful:

These are all older cameras that aren't in shops - I prefer not to do that in any event.

Oh right, sorry.

Why don't you like trying in a shop? Fairly important I'd have thought.

If I'm buying sh or online I don't like it for ethical reasons.

There's a difference, I think, bewteen tying up a salesman for half an hour and manhandling every product they have before going "thanks, I'm off to the Internet!", and just going somewhere like PC World for a poke around at their display models.

I handle cameras in shops then see what deal they can do for me. Often they do match or do a pretty good job - so I buy. Sometimes I pay a bit more. Most good camera or bike shops know the score and will work to get my cash instead of letting me go online.

I don't go in and handle a camera knowing full well I'm definitely not going to buy it.
