Annual fortnight camping was a bit of a washout this year. So we fancy a warmer climate for October school holidays. 5 days and cheap. Where is a good destination? Pool, sea, next to a small town be nice.
Fethiye Turkey. nice town nice beaches and cheap as chips.
We're going away to Oman the same time. It'll be hot (30ish), lots to do (beaches, desert camp/driving, hiking in the mountains, watching turtles etc), but fairly prices
Canary Islands will be fantastic this October.
That is what we hope as booked in due to carp holls this summer.
Package or independent travel?
Either or. Cheapest really.
We've jsut booked a week in Morocco for similar criteria..
A bit pricey as it's the school hols, nice place, and all inc... But..you know what the girls shaking their hair all say... "I'm worth it!"
DrP
we're hitting the peloponnese late sept/early oct. stoupa. recommended on here and really looking forward to it. car hire always seems cheap as chips in greece too if you fancy exploring the area.
Went to Majorca last year Oct 1/2 term for 4nights. 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant. £650 all inc! Just had car hire and airport parking (heathrow) on top of that. It was lovely. Hotel shabby, but we didnt care, kids had fun and therefore we relaxed.
Malaga is a surprisingly nice city. There's a metro/local train with Benalmadena for beaches a couple of stops away. We went there late October a couple of years ago and it was pretty warm but it's not as sun sure as some places mentioned above..
Puerto Mogan on Gran Canaria for us. Warm but not too hot. A bit more expensive than we went in June - but less than a grand for two of us flights, bike box etc included
We went to northern Cyprus last October, lovely and warm.
We did a villa though, but I'm sure you could find something
Andalucia, Southern Spain is good in October.
Certainly used to be very affordable when we got flights, hire car and toured around.
Madeira obviously.
Cape Verde?
