I will soon need 2-3 over nights in or close to London, ideally without breaking the bank.

The best I have seen is £40 a night?

Does anyone know anyone looking to rent a small room out?

Eek. I once (long, dull story) had to pay £60 for a room in a place called the Cottage Hotel round the back of Euston station. After 5 hours of fitful sleep, I awoke completely covered in the bites of predatory insects, which took a week to subside. After that, it was Travelodge all the way. 🙂

I once stayed in some vacated halls of residence, I even got breakfast!

I was a student, but you don't have to be.

Not London, but we live near Wokingham Rail Station so you could be there in 30min or so. Missus is going on about getting a lodger.
