Been lucky enough this week to work with a few people in their 90's.
Morning call at one couple's house:
Sit down and read the care file: He's 94, bit deaf, slightly wobbly. She's 90, coping well with dementia.
Sort out breakfast, (cereal, toast, bacon & egg, juice, tea), make the bed, sort out medication, feed the cat, vac, wash up, load the washer, make them a sandwich for lunch etc.
No worries, all fine.
So I ask, 'Ok folks, what would you like to do now?'
Answer:
'We're going dancing'.
And they did - immaculately dressed, down to the local social club where they danced and laughed like a pair of kids.
Not been a bad week, all in all.... 🙂
My neighbours are mid 80s on both sides and are a great laugh.
I hope I'm fortunate enough physically and financially to live out my twilight years like that.
