Evening all.
I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow for a gig and I'm wondering where to park my van. Staying at the central Travelodge but the NCP behind it has a height limit of 1.9m which might be a smidge low for the T5...
Ta.
There's one by the station, also one on Bute Street I think, still.. let me check which is best for you.
Which travelodge? The one on Queen St? And how long will the van be parked and at what times? Only asking cos there is parking near one of them that I think would be free overnight.
Oh I see you're going for a gig.. just one night?
The ones off North Road (on the river side)? Might be a bit of a walk back though.

I was thinking, if it's Saturday night, and you're staying at the Travelodge off Queen St, you could park by the Museum/City hall, in the streets behind there. Just roadside parking on meters, and IIRC they'll be off by 6.30pm and free on Sundays. If you arrive before that just pay the £1.50 or £3.50 for however long you need to last until 6.30pm.
Don't leave anything in the van of course - it's not especially rough, but it's a city centre like most others.
I think the st.davids multi-storey car park is ok for vans and is only a couple quid after 6 for overnight parking. You will be parked nice and central then.
Thanks all. It'll just be one night (Friday) and we're staying in the Travelodge above Walkabout on St. Mary's Street. As for being rough, everywhere's rougher than home 😉
Good luck getting to sleep before 4am in that one!!
Anywhere near splott and expect bricks. Cathays is ok
