When reversing up hill I have noticed what can only be described as a kind of squeaking noise, I know this is extremely vague, but any suggestions on what it may be?

Is it punctuated by a voice going "Vehicle Reversing"?

if it is I know what it is.

Sorry, it's my car, a Fiat Punto (don't laugh). Ian if that is the case then it is a very persistent mouse!

Is it a steady 'BEEP! BEEP!'?

Do you drive a refuse collection lorry?

Do I win a prize?

its not just the lack of a helical gear on reverse is it ? or is it a new squeek ?

It's a new squeak, I didn't notice it for the first 50K miles.

I used to get that noise to, a very faint whistle/squeak. It just stopped one day and never came back. It's a Punto, relax!

I would also follow all of the above advice, just for comedy value. Oh, take some pictures if you do, I’m sure they would go down well on the Punto owners website 😉

I have already read it to them 🙂

It isn't as good as the Very Hungry Caterpillar though 🙂
