Was working fine then the volume up button on the side went tits up and now I have no sound through headphones or without them.
When I go into settings and alter the volume slider thing I get sound fine but no joy other than that. I don’t think the problem is in the settings but a physical one from the volume button or headphone socket. Any ideas?

Bodge rather than solution. My up volume button gave up (my fault, damaged). Rather than use the pull down dashboard thing to change volume electronically. Which I found annoying depending which app i was using, I went into accesssbility and created a virtual button which hovers on the screen. You can change its location, opacity, and what it does. So an Always accessible Volume up button.
Can’t recall how setup but you’d find in google .

As most ipads that don't die due to a cracked screen end up needing the home button replacing I created a virtual button that mimics the home button. You soon get used to it.
