MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
So Stirling council has announced that no school will open tomorrow until at least 10am, and that no school transport is to be provided anywhere in the county etc etc etc.
Snowmageddon on its way, or a bunch of over cautious arse covering wuses?

My snowsocks arrived today - bring on snowpocalypse
Prolly a bit over cautious. It's not actually snowed yet.
Or union is trying to prevent travel for sports fixtures etc. this weekend but I'm going to ride in Dumfries come hell or high water. Since the met office forecast, yr.no and the Band the forecasts seem to be improving by the hour I don't see it being an issue. Only metcheck is forecasting daytime snow this weekend.
Stirling councils website has crashed, due to snow probably and the wrong tyres.

Sounds like they may be leaving a decision on whether or not schools will open until later in the morning... Fife made a late decision last Monday and it seems (going by a recent letter to parents) came in for some criticism as a result.
Stirling councils website has crashed,
It crashed a fortnight ago and has not been back up since....
If you read the statement it is obvious they are concerned about black ice. Looking at the forecast that is a valid concern.
The surprising thing is they've actually made a decision without just deferring it for 6 months....
West Lothian schools are open for business as usual tomorrow.
The decision was made this afternoon.
West Lothian schools are open for business as usual tomorrow.
they'll look pretty bloody stupid if they have loads of kids and not enough teachers tomorrow then
Early Warning of Widespread Icy Roads - A band of rain and snow will move southwards across Scotland during the early hours of Thursday with widespread icy surfaces then rapidly developing, potentially around the morning rush-hour period. This risk will also extend into Northern England later in the morning. Heavy snow showers will then spread to areas exposed to the strong northerly wind.

It will be relatively mild across central scotland initially tonigh, but during the early hours of Thursday a band of moderately heavy rain will move south over the central belt. It will be heavy enough to strip salt off the roads. As the rain clears the temperatures will drop by around 5 to 10 celsius in the space of an hour, giving widespread black ice. This rain clearance to cold air looks likely to phaser in with thursdays rush hour. It could well snow along the clearance line too making it extra slippery on top of the ice. If it's gridlocked gritters won't be able to get at it. The sun won't be warm enough to melt it as it'll be too cold.
