Another typically dull, tactical Champions League encounter.

I wanted the reds to win (don't like Chelsea) but had to LOL at 1/ the chant of "2-0, and you ****ed it up" and 2/ how quiet it went again when Dirk Kuyt made it 4-3

Fabulous goal from Fat Frank to 'win' it too.

One of the best games of footie I've watched in a long, long time. Really thought Liverpool could do it, in the first half. Chelsea got their act together in the second, though. Reina's mistake for the first Chelsea goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of Liverpool, and we had to endure 2 more goals past us, simply because of defensive errors. You can't make mistakes at this level. Then Kuyt's goal to make it 4-3 really sparked the tie into life; one more goal wooduv seen us through.

Then Fatty Lumplard was not marked closely enough.

Brilliant game. Chelsea deserve to go through, for their performance at Anfield. Liverpool had a bad game there.

4-4 at Stamford Bridge is a mad scoreline. But Liverpool battled on, right to the end, as did Chelsea. I was hoping for a capitulation at 4-3, but Chelsea showed a spirit I've rarely seen. Outplayed in the first half, they scored 4 in the second. A proper fighting performance.

I have gained a respect for Chelsea tonight, as a Liverpool fan. That was a proper game. 8 goals, ffs. It had everything.

Good to see a real respect between the players, and credit to the Chelsea players, for acknowledging and applauding the Liverpool players at the end. There was no real nastiness, no snidey play, just a full-blooded match. Man U; take note.

A credit to the game of football, that match. Proud to be a Red.

As much as it pains me, I wish Chelsea every success. They deserve it. This could well be their year. Every other team should fear them; they've beaten Liverpool, who surely are one of the best 3 or 4 teams in Yerp. Barcelona, tremble with fear! The English PL is the best in the World right now, no mistake. None of yer match-fixing bollocks here.

A good night for football. Good luck to Man U and Arsenal tomorrow. I just hope Man U stumble in the League...

I love footie, me. Even though it sometimes brings me great pain. It's a truly beautiful game. Rugby? Is that a town oop North, with some trains outside it?

YNWA.

Well done Chelsea, I feel sorry for Liverpool fans as they played fantastic.

I don't think the final will be as good as these 2 clubs played.

Fantastic match.

Wish Man Utd could play like that but the last time they were that good was 1999.

'99 was an amazing final. With 5 minutes to go, I was laughing unkindly.

A few minutes later, I knew I'd witnessed one of the most amazing comebacks ever.

6 year later, I did witness the most amazing comeback ever! I'm sure that was not good for my heart.

Brilliant game tonight. I doubt we'll see one as good, for a long time.

And when we do, I'd guarantee that Liverpool will be involved...

Praps the best game (outside of the 2005 final) ever witnessed in the CL?

To go to Stamford Bridge, needing to score four goals or more, and to do so, and still ultimately lose! When was the last time any team scored that many at the Bridge???

Strangely, I don't feel a great sense of loss tonight. Mainly, because a great game of footy has been played. Regardless of all the money etc; it is a truly brilliant sport, hence it's worldwide popularity over all others. From kids in impoverished parts of Africa, to grown men in affluent Western nations; footy is the game that unites, and divides, yet is the one we all love.

I play every couple of weeks. Not blessed with the agility I once had; actually, I've always been shite, but It don't stop me from loving the game. I've realised, recently, that I may have one or two injuries that may prevent me from enjoying other activities, such as mountain biking, if I carry on with the footy. So, I have to consider that knocking playing on the head, may enable me to enjoy other sorts for much longer. Doctor's said as much.

Now, yer non-footy bods may think 'so what?'. Trouble is, inside, I'm still a ten-yer old kid, kicking a Coke can around. And every other Monday night, I'm Kevin Keegan. So when the doc says 'your knee cartilage is ****ed', and 'your hip has taken one knock too many to continue playing football without risking long-term damage', it's a bit of an annoying thing. I'm still banging 'em in, right? I'm still the right side of forty?'.

I love watching footy. From kids in the park, to the World Cup. I just wish I could be out there with 'em.

Interesting to say the least, Gunners vs. MU. Might try to get a ticket as going to the local would be deadly (MU shirt in Arsenal pub? I don't think so).
RudeBoy, who will you support? Barca, I suppose 😀

No footie talk tonight?

No until you came along, no - thank God!

Most of us were thinking about what draws us TOGETHER as human beings, namely our grief about the tragic waste of lives at Hillsborough

Rather than celebrating what divides us from each other, which is the unthinking tribal support of football teams

An emotional day for sure. What got me was not so much the "event" in Liverpool, but the solidarity of the people of Sheffield and Nottingham in joining the silence at 3.06. Thank you.
