Looking for recommendations for places to go out for an evening out with the wife. Not interested in eating, just a decent night out whilst the olds look after the child. A decent pub / bar would be great, Live music could be good.

One of the few downsides of Kendal (along with the one way system) is the dearth of places for a grown up night out. You could see if there is anything doing at the Brewery?

If you’re after live music, try bootleggers. Depending what night of the week you’ll be in Kendal there’s usually something on.

Oh, and ye olde fleece inn has just reopened and looks like it might be ok. Although not been in myself yet but the advertisements looked promising.

I remember being run out of town there on a works night out because it had got round that we weren't local(think the club was called Alletcats) was like something out of the Warriors!

Was awhile ago to TBF

Wow. We got chased out of a club with a name like Alleycats many moons ago because my mate was talking to some local lad's ex girlfriend.

A few beers in The Factory Tap walked up to The Brewery catch a film/show/band The Fleece is fleecing its customers avoid £4.50 plus for a pint avoid Masons is ok and try the Fell Bar for a half. A few nice restaurants down the side yards.

Word to the wise - don't go to the night club unless it's improved dramatically. Me and Terrahawk ended up there after Kendal Mountain festival a few years ago. Dear God it was grim. And stunk of piss.

only thing kendal is any good for a night out is for when your in a group of lads for a proper session and we haven't even bothered with that for a few years. bootleggers or the brewery is the best bet if there's something on you want to see.

£4.50 a pint! Damn, hadn’t been in to the fleece yet but it looked very tidy from the outside. Shame, was probably going to pop in for a meal at all stage.
The new Thai place opposite Nevisport looks ok too (but obviously for food not for a night out!!).
