Don't bother wasting your time.

Mediocre is about the best I could say about it.

I bought the Best Of a few years back, which had four 'new' tracks on it. They were dreadful. TBH, it all started going downhill when DLR left.

Blimey, worse than that? Must be truly appalling.

I quite like Gary Cherone, that album was a bit different to the other VH stuff admittedly

this new track remond me of DLR circa "A li'l ain't enough"

hmm I suspect their time has passed. Still, they had one of the best album covers ever imho...

Going to see Chikenfoot in London on Saturday 🙂
For those who dont know , Sammy Hagar's new band.
Other members of Chickenfoot is Micheal Anthony ( ex Van Halen ), Joe Satriani and on drums Chad Smith from Chilli Peppers.
Going to be AWESOME 8)

They're pretty good that ChickenBurger..

Almost could see VH going that way if they'd stayed together.

Chad still with Chilli Peppers, just he is doing the Chickenfoot thing as well.
When Chillis need him they get first choice.

Chad Smith on MusicRadar.com, posted on August 24, 2009:
What about Chickenfoot? After you do the Chili Peppers, are you going to do another record? Absolutely! We’re having so much fun and it’s gone so well – there’s no reason not to continue with Chickenfoot. That’s something I want to make very clear: Chickenfoot isn’t a one-off thing for any of us. We’re a band. I would imagine during my time with the Peppers that Joe will probably do another solo record, and maybe Sammy and Mike will do something on their own. But as soon as I’m done with the Chili Peppers, I’m diving right back into Chickenfoot. We’re going to outdo this record, too. That’s the plan and I’m sticking to it.

I've just had the opportunity to listen to this whilst de-limescaling the Kettle and Iron (I kid you not, it's all a happenin in the Bouy household)
It's awlright, it ain't ow't special except the chorus line, which is rather neat.
Over riding thought's after it are it's great to see Eddie rock out and seem to enjoy himself again, and Diamond Dave knocking out a tune though it does sound to me like his voice isn't as powerful and maybe half an octave lower..

Rock on.

He never could sing, Eddie can write a tune and Dave can keep the girls happy but 20 years on he just looks a bit sad.

Hello,

Heard a snippet of it on You Tube a few days ago and was a bit underwhelmed and hearing the full song confirms that thought. Not awful but nothing really special either.

Hopefully the rest of the album will have some more rocking tunes.

Can't say any of the Chickenfoot stuff has really rocked my boat either though...."clicks on live "Hear about it Later" on YouTube to remember what they are really about..."

I still think Van Halen and Van Halen II were their best albums.

I think that will be a grower.

I'm going to see the 'foot on Saturday too. I'm not a big fan but my brother had a spare ticket. Plus i would like to see Satriani in action.

On another Planet Rock related front - Two things I am liking;
Tracer
And the fact that The Union and The Answer are doing a joint headline show soon. Nice!

As A huge Van Halen fan I find the track up there ^^ tattoo really quite.. well, s**t.
It just looks like a pub band going through the motions, except with a really good guitarist.

sweet jesus, it's not great is it?

And maybe they should have spent more money on a video rather than asking their cousin "cos he's got a video camera"

Dissapointing single, but as long as they tour the UK I'm a happy man. Flashheart - Planet Rock have been caning the Too Much single. Good sound. Remind me a bit of Kyuss.

It's amazing how often the first single off an album turns out to be the worst song on it. I guess the record company choose the least devisive one that will appeal to as many different listeners as possible.

Hmmm... Aside from the mildly amusing revelation that Diamond Dave now looks like George Segal having his third mid-life crisis, that really didn't do much for me.

Someone mention Sammy Hagar?

EXCELLENT!

That means I have another genuine excuse to post this:

Doesn't get much better really. Apart from the trousers, obviously.

Spandex and bulgy trews rule (kinda)

So, there seems to be a split in the VH followers camp..

Interesting.

I too will wait for the "disc" and then give it another whirl.

DLR was THE front-man for Van Halen, However..... Sammy was already established as an excellent performer in his own right. And as such did a good stint with Van Halen.

It was not a competition, just evolution.... talented, and 'enduring' people.

OH! and Chickenfoot on Saturday WILL be an excellent live performance..... Sammy and Joe FFS !

Downloaded the new album (deluxe version) and liking it 🙂

Tattoo has actually grown on me over time....

Has a bit of all the original albums in it with some new type stuff too.

Fair Warning is still my favourite but this fits well with the rest.

Hope they decide to cross the Atlantic sometime soon.

Regards

Surely the fact that it's by Van Halen is the biggest clue that it's utter guff?

Ed seemed to just lose it after 1984. The timing, swing and feel on stuff like Meanstreet and the VH1/2 stuff is absolutely untouchable.

They are a just a reasonably good hard rock band now 🙁
