Just got a text from 'Gumtree' telling me I've won a £300 gift voucher. To claim it I have to visit a link. Love a good scam, but can't really see how this one works. Unless they just try and sell you stuff on the link?
Did you follow it?
No, my phone doesn't have an interpipe. It's from the 80's. Gonna check it on my PC inabit though.
Ah, maybe it's for people with smartphones, could perhaps be like a premium rate number masquerading as an internet link. Or somefink.
or it's just a piece of mobile malware using a standard mobile browser exploit kit.
the link probably goes to somewhere like www.gumtree.giftvoucher.com - ie, somewhere that superficially looks like Gumtree but isn't.
It's some incomprehensible case-sensitive bit.ly/HGt58HyjsIiLl etc etc
Obviously designed to be clicked rather than typed.
Balls to it.
lol can't believe you were even considering clicking it. still keeps in in beer money
I wasn't. Hence trying to type it. I've a general interest in internet scammery.
