My laptop blew up this morning - a puf of smoke came out of it when I plugged it in. I have been meaning to get a new one for a while as it is around 4 years old and rather slow.
Don't need it for anything too serious - just general office dutues (word/excel/internet) & storing music for the ipod. I am just getting into photography - using as film SLR at the moment but a digital SLR is on the cards - so a good screen would also be nice too.
Anyhow, I have a budget of around £650. What would you reccomend?
dell. you'll be able to build a well spec'd laptop for that sort of money!
White MacBook. Have never looked back and the operating system is amazing.

If you can afford a Mac, its a smart move.
Have a look on Apple's refurb Mac store. Often some great bargains, and they have full warranty. Changes day to day, though. Nowt in your price range today, but might be in a day or two.
