What's my options? Board and felt it? Probably looking at about £400 for gear and a skip to get rid of the old roof.

What about plastics etc? anything out there worth considering. I just want something half decent that'll last a few years, as if we're still here in a few years time, then we might flatten the garage and move it anyhow.

if you're looking for something 'temporary' then what you said.

there's a few companies offerign grp solutions plus some doing membrane solutions - they costr more but last longer.

Did mine about 6 months ago. With Wickes Easy Seal roof felt. Managed it in a long weekend on my own, and I work in an office. Cost less than £400 I think.

The long and the short of it is;

1. rip off old roof;
2. screw some 1/2" marine ply on (if your roof was a feked as mine);
3. paint with weird expensive adhesive (hope it doesn't rain);
4. roll out sticky foam rubber stuff
5. roll out normalish capsheet felt, sticky side down.
6. make a total mess of the edging.

Pizapizz. Or pay someone a grand. My back ached for a week though.

Although if it had not been ajoining next door's I'd have been tempted to pitch it an use that wavy plastic or some metal sheeting, if only for the noise value.
