We will be in touch
LaCie D2 Quadra just died after about 6 years, so looking for something new.
We had some sort of power cut this morning. Everything went off in the house, iMac was being used at the time. Rebooted and LaCie drive wouldn't mount. Now it just clicks. Have tried repairing boot drive permissions. Drive won't mount even in Sharkoon drive bay which works fine for other drives.
Used for hourly backups, and looking for 2TB. iMac has FW800 or USB 2.0.
Still got LaCie D2 Quadra case so could use that with compatible new drive. Or is it easier to just buy new drive in case??
Any recommendations? WD any good?
If you have multiple devices at home then think about a NAS drive, otherwise any 3.5 inch drive put into the enclosure that you already have should be fine. For any drive manufacturer there'll be someone with a horror story, but they are much of a muchness these days.
I've a WD My Cloud, does what its supposed to do without fuss.
Running a 4tb NAS drive, simple easy and no need to keep plugging it in.
