I seem to be in the minority with this one. Tip: put subtitles on.
Does that improve the acting and the storyline?

In that it makes it easier to follow.
If one doesn't like it - one doesn't like it.
That’s going to be a difficult one
But some how arousing.
That’s going to be a difficult one
Paraphrasing Frankie Boyle, I presume?
Sex Education season 2 was rampant. Strongly recommended.
You season 2, a bit cliched, but it was good to watch too. Watch if you enjoyed Dexter perhaps?
If you have Prime (there isn't a prime thread) then check out a movie called Jexi. Very funny film about a guy who lives on his mobile phone.
Just started watching Locke & Key. Looking really good.
Just finished The Stranger, it's 5/10 from me. Maybe I missed something important somewhere as I got to the end thinking that the other plot strands were somehow completely irrelevant, filler material. Enjoyed Paul Kaye's performance, not so much everyone else.
When I finally get back online (thanks Vodafone ya shower a shyte), we're going to give Sex Ed a whirl
Aye, Paul Kaye was very good, the rest passable, decent filler.
Finally got around to watching Marriage Story, don't know if this is just the way that some arty American couples come apart but I found them (and the kid) all a bit annoying . I also didn't think Laura Dern was anything special.
Stranger was poor in the end. Too many threads, too much exposition, too much Grange Hill kids running around.
Lack of focus of central plot and some cheesy dialogue lost me.
I'm assuming "Netflix" is just idiomatic now for "streaming service". 😃 So I suggest "The Righteous Gemstones" on Now TV/Sky. One of the best series I've seen for a long time, I didn't think Danny McBride could top Eastbound & Down but maybe now he has! John Goodman really good in it too.If you have Prime (there isn’t a prime thread)
Bad day for the cut. A revenge/thriller type film, filmed on location in Northern Ireland.
I thought Stranger started well, but ended up a bit ITV
Just finished The Stranger.
Some good acting (Siobhan Finneran as the detective, Brandon Fellows as the Alpaca-killing chubby lad) but some quite terrible bits too:
- the action scenes were just awful, terrible, laughable. Grange Hill at best.
- the plot was silly and I still don't understand why scruffy cop shot Jennifer Saunders
- there was basically only a plot because either people didn't tell each other what was going on, for some inexplicable reason, or just plain lied to each other, for no obvious reason. Apart from these two things there wasn't really a plot.
- the happy family scenes were cringe-worthy and implausible.
- the end was also silly and daft.
Overall, I'm glad it's over and the missus can move on.

the plot was silly and I still don’t understand why scruffy cop shot Jennifer Saunders
because she was about to expose the blackmailers (to her friend the cop), which in turn would have exposed the dodgy investor and then in return he wouldn't have got the money for the treatment his kid didn't need..

I started watching The Righteous Gemstones. It was a bit too over the top, so I didn't stick with it, great cast working really well together though.
Currently watching 68 Whiskey, which is vaguely M.A.S.H. blended with Catch 22, and Avenue 5 - Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, and a bunch of other excellent actors playing clueless fools adrift on a space cruise ship. I got a bit sick of Hugh Laurie recently, but I'm enjoying this.
Overall, I’m glad it’s over and the missus can move o
I feel your pain - we have upstairs/downstairs netflix for that.
really enjoyed The Stranger personally. see your point about some of the gripes reading them here, but none of them occurred to me at the time... kept me completely compelled which is a rare feat.
that lass (the actual stranger) is bang tidy too.
Watched Treadstone on Prime and Lost in Space on Netflix. Both rather good. Treadstone a cut above the usual spy fare and Lost in Space very well made.
Can't wait for series 2 of Altered Carbon on 27 February.
Really enjoyed The Sinner on Netflix. It's a Whydoneit.
After Life returns on the 24th April not sure it need another season but we’ll see.
I've been watching a lot of "Schitt's Creek". It's a brilliant comedy where the characters grow the longer it goes on. 8/10
Watched Booksmart on Prime last night, funny, original and warm-hearted teen comedy movie. Probably not meant for middle-aged men but still enjoyable by them.
Watched Treadstone on Prime and Lost in Space on Netflix. Both rather good. Treadstone a cut above the usual spy fare and Lost in Space very well made.
Does Treadstone get better? Watched the first episode with high hopes, was disappointed. Felt very low budget.
I watched the Documentary "Mountain" on Netflix, it was pretty, but I'm not really sure what the point was, it's a mish-mash of some clips you've seen elsewhere from Redbull videos with some Everest footage and some words with nice music. It's ok, but it was more a collection of visuals than a documentary!
Godless , definitely worth a watch .

No, not in my opinion. Tim Kring (Heroes) is the show-runner, and it is basically just Heroes with Bourne-lite agents. Endlessly flits between lots of sub-plots with some utterly ridiculous scenarios and plot devices.
Getting increasingly excited by the prospect of S5 of Better Call Saul.
Due to kick off on the 23rd Feb in the States, so hopefully close to that here in the UK.
Should be epic.
Jimmy is now Saul...
I second the recommendation for Godless
Lost in Space was very good ......Danger.......Will.......Robinson. Dr Smith is well acted and a supremely vile character at times.
Netflix is also getting the Studio Ghibli back catalogue. So far Mrs M has had to suffer Porco Rosso and Castle in the sky.
Picard on Amazon is very good so far.
Lost in Space is terrible.
Can’t wait for series 2 of Altered Carbon on 27 February.
Are they following the books? It could get challenging...
Enjoying Avenue 5 on Sky one
Started watching 'Locke and key' on Netflix with the missus last night. Only 2 episodes in but seems pretty good.
Lost in Space is terrible
This.
Dr Smith character is beyond terrible.
I second the recommendation for Godless
One of the best things on Netflix I reckon.
Locke & Key is worth a watch, but has been turned in to a bit of a teen drama. What it’s based on is more horror so I was a little disappointed.
Narcos Mexico series 2 has just started so that’s me sorted for a couple of weeks.
CheesybeanZ
"Lost in Space is terrible"This.
Dr Smith character is beyond terrible.
I thought the effects were quite good. For something aimed at kids, the Dr Smith character was quite complex and played well IMO.
Watched one episode of Narcos S2, es muy bien.
Quite like the Norwegian Ragnarok. Only seen a couple of episodes so far though.
I’ve been watching a lot of “Schitt’s Creek”. It’s a brilliant comedy where the characters grow the longer it goes on. 8/10
This. I watched all 5 seasons in 2 weeks, funniest thing I've seen for ages. When it starts it seems a bit cheesy, but persevere with it as it gets much better.
Caher - Ragnarok looks so crap but kinda keen to watch it as it is filmed on the fjord I live on! Also supposed to be learning Norwegian. Cool connection is that the glacier story in this months STW mag is the same glaciers that are in that series above a town called Odda where it is filmed.
