Has anybody got it? Is it as good in the UK as it is in the US?

I have, I prefer it to Lovefilm, better selection and it actually works/loads properly.

Never used the US one, so no idea there - sorry!

I've got Lovefilm and Netflix streaming.

Netflix has a much better menu/ratings system and (this is REALLY important), you can get a Chrome plug in which adds IMDB and Rotten tomato ratings to the menu system. It also has breaking bad, which is reason enough to get it.

Both Lovefilm and Netflix have fairly poor film selections, however there's enough between them to keep you going for a long time, particularly if you like foreign films, the quality of those are much better than the UK/US offerings.

I have just got Netflix ...
I think it is good (well, it is free at the moment)however it cannot stream a movie over wifi without having to stop for a breather ( and it also affects the sound synching very badly)

It nows runs via the home network plugs and is absolutely fine

I had it for a few months, never used the US one but by reputation a lot bigger choice over there (surprise!), however the US netflix has recently lost a lot of content as some of their studio deals have expired. Was a bit meh about it.

So now trying Lovefilm - seems to me to have a slightly bigger choice, interface (on Wii) not as good as Netflix and picture too not as good as Netflix prolly going to bin it when cheap trial finishes.

Lovefilm have recently overhauled their interface, and it's much better than it was (looks a lot like Netflix, now).

Has lovefilm sorted out AirPlay yet? Was a silly restriction last time I used it about a year ago. I'd go Netflix just because of that. Though both had pretty rubbish film selections last time I looked, bit like your corner shop video rental section.

Netflix here as well. Interface through the Apple TV is brilliant, and app is useful for iPad/phone viewing.

Agree about Dexter - just had to download season 7 to fuel my addiction....

Be aware that is illegal though as you're violating some form of licensing law I believe. Doubt anyone actually cares mind!

Yeah netflix is awesome, especially if you can use both the US and Uk version with an add on for chrome. New series of arrested development soon!

If you put a USA open DNS server into your network settings, you can access the US Netflix.

Works on Xbox, not on PC with this method.

Netflix works better for me. Far more series. Film choice isn't great for either though.

Be wary of using Netflix on a Kindle by the way. There seems to be a lot of people, myself included, who have a very poor bandwidth experience. I reckon Amazon have nobbled the app on purpose. 😉 It works great on every other device.

Does anybody know any more about using a VPN or DNS open server? Are they both definitely illegal? And what systems can you use them with?
