I've dabbled with the USB weather station from Maplin before, but I fancy something accessible from my phone.
The Netatmo looks like a neat piece of kit, but is there anything else worth considering around the same price, with smartphone access?
TIA
they do seem to have a corner of the market.
there are plenty of solutions for online weather stations from your maplin type kit but there are mostly a bit involved and require running PC's or Raspberry Pi's etc.
keep an eye out for deals on amazon. they knock them out half price reasonably regularly, especially coming up to xmas.
Depends if you want to DIY.
I've got a Raspberry Pi plugged into a temp sensor that uploads data to thingspeak.com, via my home wi-fi. thingspeak.com does the plotting. I can read it everywhere I can get connected to the internet.
I've had a Netatmo since they came out several years ago - very easy to use and has been faultless. I'd definitely recommend one.
I don't have a rain/wind gauge - probably should get the latter at some point though.
Keep an eye out on Amazon as they do occasionally drop the price like when Black Friday rolls round. I picked up my basestation on eBay fairly cheap as the battery life was weeks rather than months, a known problem, returned to netamo and they repaired ands it's been running faultlessly ever since.
The benefit of netamo is having the app, webpage and intergration with Iftt.
I've no idea why but after looking on theit website I've realised that I NEED a Netamo weather station!
