What can i do so as not to take out 2 maps on rides other than make a custom map?
You could enter the 21st century and start using GPS on OS maps? 😆
ps I'm sure you can order a map online centred on a specific location if you like.

How big an area do you need? What I have done in the past (prior to getting a Garmin 1000) was:
a) Goto bing.com/maps
b) Zoom in
c) In the top RH corner select OS Maps as the overlay.
d) Use the Windows "Snipping tool" to grab sections of screen
e) Paste into a Word document and print out (annotated as necessary).
That then gave me a couple of pages to stick in my pocket. For most rides there was only a little bit where I needed the security-blanket of the map.
Subscribe to the OS Maps service and download/print whatever sections you require. It's £20 pa so cheaper than cutting up paper maps.
OS will print maps of your area but the quality of the printing isn't as good as the standard maps, it looks as if it's done with a rather shonky bubble jet printer.
