Nasa’s plans for the first all-female spacewalk have fallen through – at least in part because the agency doesn’t have enough spacesuits that fit the astronauts.
What should have been a giant leap for womankind has turned into a stumble after Nasa said on Monday night that they will only have access to one correctly sized spacesuit top by Friday when the walk was scheduled. One of the two women on the mission, Anne McClain, will now have to give up her place to a male colleague.
She thought a large-sized suit would be fine but after a spacewalk last week found that the medium-sized was a better fit and would be the most appropriate suit to wear to venture back outside the International Space Station.
“Anne trained in ‘M’ and ‘L’ and thought she could use a large but decided after [last] Friday’s spacewalk a medium fits better,” a Nasa spokeswoman, Stephanie Schierholz, announced on Monday.
“In this case, it’s easier (and faster!) to change space-walkers than reconfigure the spacesuit.”

Isn't one suit unservicable, and it is easier to change the astronaut than repair the suit?

it's irrelevant how expensive it is. If it's something they need, and they haven't got it, that's lack of planning. Do you think NASA are short of cash?! (EDIT: a quick Google estimates the cost of a suit at $2M, versus $500M for a NASA SLS rocket launch or $60M for SpaceX, so chump change.)We’re talking very expensive space suits, not six pairs of knickers and sports bras from M&S!
Total click bait anyway. Assuming the space suits are unisex, I'm sure there are plenty of blokes who would also require/prefer an M sized suit.
There was a debate led from it on, ahem... Jeremy Vine today. The Woman he had on had some....interesting things to say.
They have got two medium suits, however one is deemed unserviceable. It is a better use of resources to send someone esle out in a large suit than repair the medium.
These things are small spacecraft in themselves. Why risk the astronaut when someone else can go out in another suit? This isn't about a phot opportunity, they are going outside to fit a new bit of kit.
actually Wikipedia reckons the suits cost more like $12M. I'm sure the time factor in the repair was more the issue than the cost.
A relevant point made on the news coverage I read is that astronauts bodies can change significantly in the micro-gravity of the ISS, so the suit that fitted them well in training on Earth may not be such a good fit in the reality of space.

Indeed, the astronaut in question had trained in both M and L suits and was able to wear both equally well, so they planned for her to be in a L (so the u/s M spare wasn't needed) but then due to changes the M was better but not available.
