Right. My music library is lossless ripped to my NAS. I've used iTunes to manage the library and also to sync with my old iPod classic. There's 1TB of music that I want to convert to mp3 and copy onto my phone to listen to on the move.
The library is tagged / managed OK despite iTunes best efforts. My SONOS copes / displays it OK.
What's the best way? One off convert everything to MP3? I know iTunes does this but puts the mp3s in the same folder I think which would confuse iTunes and SONOS and duplicate all the media?
I've used MediaHuman Audio converter with good results in the past but it's quite a manual process (amongst the lossless there are quite a few tracks which are already MP3 so won't need converting). It looks like dbpoweramp might have a good batch mode but that's costs to buy. Unless I use the 'eval' to do the bulk then manually convert any further music (yes I am a CD hoarder)?
I know this gets asked lots but what's the best Android player once I've got the music on my device? For playback, creating playlists etc?
Can you not just copy the MP3s out of the iTunes folder after conversion to save SONOS getting confused?
Try Fre:ac, it should let you do bulk conversions to MP3. You can set the format, and filenames, and folder etc. It is free. https://www.freac.org/
