Wot no thread today? Is it just not exciting enough, or is nobody following it?

So what do all the doubters reckon on him going from 1-3 to 6-3 in the second set?

yeah i was just thinking the same thing - got it on mute at work. didn't expect him to get the second after the first couple of games, surely it's a formality now - ferrero's bottling it.

Living up to expectations at last...let's see how long he lasts.

I do not expect him to win I am afraid.

Not at all...he's not consistently managing to play under pressure yet.

he did alright under pressure a couple of days ago, though - first time he's gone 5 sets like that where you could argue he lost his chance to finish it and then risen to the occasion and sealed it.

to be honest, i just wanted to call you cynical.

he's smashing him all over now - that backhand that ferrero netted for 0-40 was awesome. serve game for the match now. comprehensive.

He played well today - good on the whinger.

Still don't like the personality that comes across from him, but his game is now looking good at times.

But Federererer is looking red-hot - some of his returns today - :-O

I do. Breath of fresh air after Tim Nice-but-rubbish.

Who cares if he moans and whinges and doesn't fit into the nicey nicey pims and losing wimbers mindset? He wins. Much better IMHO.

Looking forward to Federer v Murray.

Won't have had so much fun since Argentina 78.

The only difference if that happens being a Scot will have made the final...

yeah don't think that was ever in doubt ferrero is no grass court player despite apparently being world number 1 some years back.

people speak of murray being best returner in the game but fed looked every bit as good today, i thought the lanky czech would rattle him at times but just looked rather amateur if his serve was returned.

roddick or hewitt should prove a good match for murray but you'd expect him to win if he gets first set.

that should leave fed in the final who you would have expected to have a good match against djokovic in the semi but djokovic ****ed it and haas has really run his course in this tournament. But you'd be a brave man to bet on murray when federer is on the brink of history
