MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Just in case you missed the email from MS regarding the reduction in the free on line storage allowance.
We want to inform you about some upcoming changes to OneDrive that will affect you. The amount of storage that comes with OneDrive will change from 15 GB to 5 GB. We are also discontinuing the 15 GB camera roll bonus. As a result of these changes, you will be over your OneDrive storage limit on 7/13/2016
On the bright side they are offering a years free subscription to Office 365 Personal, to 'ease the transition'.
Bait and Switch as the Americans would say
Yeah. It's a bit cheeky. I'll just move my stuff over to Google - they still do 15gb, which is enough to backup my photos.
Don't knock the 365 bait and switch. Still one of the cheapest ways of getting 1Tb of online storage and getting M$ Office thrown in for free.
Varies at times but both Google Drive and Dropbox are usually more expensive.
Any mp3 you stick in OneDrive Music will stream for free to Groove Player.
Considering they were initially going to offer unlimited storage this is a bit rubbish!

I just noticed Flickr is now 1TB free. Switcharoo?
Bit annoyed at this. My account goes from 40Gb to 5!.
Have you seen the renewal cost of 365. £70 a year.
You lot must have missed the previous PSA. Microsoft were doing an offer in January where you could claim the 15GB plus 15GB camera roll back so you don't lose it. That's ended now though.
Cutting the unlimited offer was a different thing. That applied to 365 subscribers and to be fair it was a minority abusing it to store vast video collections. It's now back to 1TB for subscribers, which is not bad for £8 a month (or cheaper at £80 a year) including full Office itself, 5 installs and includes Outlook, Access and Publisher which aren't in boxed home/student editions.
Flickr does indeed have 1TB, but that's just photos. Their desktop uploader app now attempts to sync your entire photo collection. I don't think it can be used to sync back to other PCs though, which is something I like with OneDrive.
Any mp3 you stick in OneDrive Music will stream for free to Groove Player.
+1 this. Very useful, plus you can selectively download for offline play.
I usually buy my yearly subscription off ebay for about £55, for 5 devices/users. So all 5 of us get 1TB for £11/year.
Just checked, Tesco's Outlet was the first search result on ebay. £55 for Home Premium 5 user.
I'll just move my stuff over to Google - they still do 15gb, which is enough to backup my photos.
If your happy for Google to compress your photos, they don't count against your storage allocation.
