I had to turn it off, made me feel sick. How anyone in a position such as he is, sit there and brazenly claim he has no knowledge of his wife's financial arrangements, that he had no knowledge of the working of his company finances, that he couldn't recall making important decisions ten years ago etc is quite unbelievable. He even suggested that his move to Monaco, having never stepped foot in the place previously, was not motivated by tax reasons. The staring bit was funny though.

The pension fund has a £571m deficit. He admits it's his fault and he is a billionaire. I see a simple solution.

Here's a question, if his wife has no involvement in the business, how can she get a dividend?

HMRC have clamped down on that for years for us 'mere mortals'.

The select committee don't seem to have any power other than to be able to ask questions. They can't make him stump up 50p, let alone £570m....

You just need to own shares to get dividends, you don't have to have any say in how it's run.

[s]dividend is via share ownership.

She may receive dividend for doing SFA.

However, she may not receive a salary for doing eff all, which is the loophole that is closed.[/s]

sorry flaps, you got in there quicker than an Oligarch to a failed socialist state utility company auction.
