looking for a 2gb mp3 player with shuffle, I like the clip on the apple one but I dont want itunes.
to be used running biking and at the gym
what do you suggest?
i have a sansa clip for running and training.
Class bit of kit.
All you can ask for really. also Micro SD slot for more memory
+1 clip+
Another clip+ here I've got the 8gb one was about fifty quid iirc also use an 8gb card in it. Top bit of kit
You can use iPods with Winamp, much better than iTunes 🙂
Sansa Clip also got a 8gb one and a 4gb one for the wife for £20 on ebay, drag and drop, great sound. However only recognises ID3 tags (not folders) so adding compilation albums can make the artist menus messy if you catch my drift.
Liking my Sony MP3 player here. Great sound, very usable and no apple ultra control over your music. Silly name though NWZ s693f (or something)
Drag and drop from windows media player.
+ 1 Sansa clip
thanks peeps, i'll check those out. Tom, if i use winamp will the apple play mp3s?
ah also with the sandisc, is anyone using it with windows 7, the spec says xp or vista and the reason im getting a new one is my zen wont work with 7.
You sure it won't?! 😐 My old Zen Stone just plugged in and appeared as a removable drive in Windows 7, drag/drop worked fine. You'll probably find Windows 7 is MORE compatible with random devices than XP/Vista ever was.
Sadly my Zen broke recently so I too went the way of the Clip+, very good although the max volume seems curiously low compared to the old Zen. The Clip+ also plays MP3 by folder as well as ID3 tags, which helps as my collection isn't massively tidy.
If you do get a Clip make sure it's the newer Clip+, the one with the slightly square center as oppose to the old circular one. It's got a few new bits, smoother menus, ability to play folders etc.
Ill give the drag and drop a try, mines the microphoto so we'll see. Other than thatthe sandisc seems to be what im looking for, ta all.
although the max volume seems curiously low compared to the old Zen
There is a setting that changes the max volume from high to low.
I found the same thing until i had a fiddle with it.
System Settings - Volume - High/low
Sorted.
