Hi all,

looks like this could be happening, - know nothing about the area but looking for family kind of area around a 15mile radius of Roborough I guess.

Any thoughts?!

Ummm......Plymouth 😈

Sorry, couldn't resist!

It's nice north of the city, going out towards Yelverton.

Dammit - beaten to it!

Have you considered Cornwall? Just across the river & not Plymouth..

Saltash? Armpit of cornwall...

Where you working? Traffic from rogborough through to a38 both directions is a shit. If your north of the airport then you'll want to be living north (tavi, yelverton etc)

I live in tavi and if I have to work in Plymouth and time it wrong the 12 miles can take an hour easily.

Saltash isn't that bad, just the wrong side of the river.

Yelverton is an odd place, no real centre to it. Tavistock is a nice moorsy market town but not for everyone. Plenty of good riding round here though.

Mate of mine lives HERE & its really nice, quiet & you've got good riding from the door.
He previously lived in Mannamead just north of Mutley plain - that was a nice area as well - not heard good things about Saltash though 😕

I would recommend Tamerton Foliot. Just a few minutes from Roborough via the back lane and easy riding onto Dartmoor it has a villagey feel but also easy to get into Plymouth (if you really must).

There are some nice places in Derriford & Glenholt and an easy commute to work. Probably avoid the areas of Efford, Swilly/North Prospect, Whitleigh & Southway though.

If you want somewhere more rural then there is Bickleigh, Shaugh Prior & the small villages outside of Plymouth, great access to Dartmoor for riding but the commute into Plymouth can be a PITA.

PS Dartmoor IMHO is not Fat bike territory 😕

Worked down there for a few years and stayed out near Spriddlestone.
I really liked it and cycled in to Devenport most days.
