We have a small one of those and it’s fine - certainly gets rid of more than nothing and safer for kids and pets than fly spray

I used to have a Eurozap EZ16 and it seemed to work well (the bulb gave up after 3 years), I replaced it with a  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07BK3MDJ3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (mostly as it looks a bit better) but it seems less effective (I think it's killed 3 flies in 4 months). That said there seem to be less flies about in general where I live and I only rarely notice one in the house so can't really say it's the zappers fault

Burn mosquito coils in the house. That's what they are for.

These are amazing:  https://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=4396609

They claim a 40m bubble of mosquito denial and they are not wrong.

That links to something for €5000-7000 for me and covers 4000m2? If so seems a tad overkill for most people's home requirements...

Thanks for suggestions

It appears the mosquito coils maybe harmful to health?

they certainly stink and and with young kids around I didn’t think they were appropriate for in house use

There is no such thing as overkill when you want to be bastard free. Those little bastards are a nightmare and, sadly, I can't take a flamethrower to them all, so this is a good second.

Why not just do what any other country in the world does and put fly netting up on the windows ?

Cheap and no harmful side effects

Mozzie coils are sawdust impregnated with natural pyrethrum. We have found them very effective in Scotland for keeping midgies away from the tent. If you burn then inside a small closed tent the midgies certainly die but you get bronchitis from the smoke. Burned in a house I can't imagine they would have the same effect on the lungs.

Make a sport of it! Old tea towel and good old whip crack. I need a more interesting life because killing flies and wasps using this method is one of the highlights of my day at the moment.

Insect screens on the windows. Not common in the UK I know, but ubiquitous here in Southern Spain.

Insect sprays and the like are pulmonary dangers.

The weather in the UK is hotting up and over the past couple of weeks has matched the temperatures here - mosquitos may become common. I think the cost/benefit balance is positive, even though the neighbours might think you've gone a bit barmy.

Further to my first post, this is the zapper I have. It isn't the prettiest of things to have in the house but it is very effective - with a large flower-filled garden and bi-fold doors that have been almost permanently open this summer it has been great. When the tubes on the first one I had failed (after a couple of years) it was actually cheaper to just buy a new unit than new tubes too.
