MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I have a Zyxel 500gb NAS that's not done much for a year or 2 - had my muzak flac'd and mp3'd on it.
PC doesn't see the drive now, or at least not consistently, the NAS software said "no hdd" the one time it did. If I plug the hdd into a caddy the pc doesn't see it either. It's a 3.5 SATA
I have a spare 2.5" SATA 320gb, the pc sees this fine in the caddy, but in the NAS box it sees it a 0gb.
Sounds like both my NAS box and the NAS hdd are ****ed? Any ideas?

Likely that the drive is formatted in a way the NAS cannot read. From your PC, Windows Key + E - to open Explorer, Right Click on the drive -> Properties and then check what File System is being used.
It does however sound like your first drive is on its way to being an ex-drive.
I reckon your nas might be ok but your hdd is probably not, try doing a chkdsk on the hdd to see if it finds any issues that need fixing.
Ta, if I can get the pc to talk to the HDD I'll check it!
Will look at reformatting the spare for the NAS.
Got the spare one working grand in the NAS caddy, thanks all!
