just go to the minecraft website and cough up the £17.99 for the full version , I had a look for my lad and downloaded the trial version. I decided it was crap and he can carry on with Skylanders giants instead.

Hit the Buy Now button

Seen has been playing it for about two years now. So good vfm, don't get why the kids/people like it, but they do.

As far as I know, you can't save the world you build in free version.
And you are alone, except for some AI baddies.
You can't go on multi player.
You can't download maps or mods.
No skins etc.

If you would like to try Minecraft before deciding to make a purchase, you can play the demo mode by registering for an account and playing online. This version of the game is 100 minutes long, or five in-game days.

The free on-line one is a much older version I think.

My lad plays the full version on Xbox with his mates - probably he best value game he has. I just don't see the fascination myself.

It's a funny game watching it shows no appeal but when you start to play it after a bit it's rather oddly addictive. Not played it myself in ages so not played the new changes.

Incidentally what you actually buy is a login so you can play any version on any system by logging in.

You will need the full version from minecraft.net, the hunger games part is a mod that should be hosted on a multiplayer sever that he can connect to.
Great game if you like to be creative and it's constantly being updated with new features. It has only sold nearly 9 million copies 😀

The free version is old and very basic compared to the full game.

It very addictive, almost kind of like lego for computers. It's at the most fun when you play multiplayer with friends IMO. You can also get extra plug-ins that let you do some pretty crazy stuff. It can be educational in a way should you wish to explore that avenue as you can create logic gates and stuff like that which kinda emulates electrical circuits.
