New tune from Coroner...
And a new album from professional miserabilists Paradise Lost coming 19th September
I know its not Monday but this is for Brent Hinds. RIP Brent
Ufomammut - Stigma
Seems to be a lot of raiding late 70s/early 80s ACDC, Motorhead and Sabbath going on recently - but that's not a bad thing.
@thepodge, sorry, just realised I tagged you in that Discharge comment, it should have been @greatbeardedone. 🤦♀️ Apologies.
No worries.
New Deftones is good but not great.
I just got some new midi controllers so I'll be delving into making something horrible again soon hopefully.
I missed this when it was released a few months ago. Karnivool, one of my all time favourite bands.
New Deftones is good but not great.
Too true. It's why I'm not phased about seeing them on their next tour. Piece Hall gig was mega as it was their great work.
First for autumn. Is it metal? Possibly not but it's metal adjacent and I'm enjoying it right now. Who thinks that might be the same place Kirk fought the Gorn?
And if you liked that, if there's any justice this following track will be up there with Freebird and Stairway in decades to come.
That Greta track, Meeting the Master, sounds like if Yes (Jon Anderson) wrote a Led Zeppelin song. Dubious if it should be called metal, but it’s still a cracker of a song.
I was at a funeral of a cycling buddy today, entry music was Stairway to Heaven, exit was AC/DC Highway to Hell. Neither are “metal” but both summed up him to a T.
RIP Nigel.

With a healthy dollop of Rush thrown in! I think it's the best thing I've heard in the last couple of years, it's my go-to start-up track when I fire up the media player.
So many layers to Igorr these days. Great to see it all.
New Deftones is like older Deftones.... which is a welcome return for me. Not ground breaking, but solid.

Wow some really good stuff posted recently!
absolutely love those greta van fleet tracks above. bloody Fantastic !
Also that karnivool track, really like that.
And then that masterful but bonkers igorrr track blastbeat falafel ! That’s on my playlist too now, really amazing.
short and sharp!
It's Metal Adjacent Monday! Pick the Ritchie Blackmore and Graham Bonnet out of this ..
Love these guys. The cleans make me go giddy at the knees!
Chat Pile - Roots Bloody Roots
I think we can sneak this in as metal. It's the track Kitty is belting out at the end of Riot Women's first episode, in the White Hart (my preferred venue for a post-ride pint in Hebden while waiting on a train home).
I saw the last gig of the current Nova Twins tour on Sat night at the Kentish Town forum. Would recommend
woke me up this morning!
Never been a big Rush fan but I love this video:
Spotify has suggested I should listen to Conjuror. It's not bad but not really doing it 100% for me.

Anybody coming across rock on YouTube that has the distinct whiff of AI about it?

Very good live, touring next week, no card tricks or hat rabbits.
Found these guys thanks to their collab with Nico from Electric Callboy;

Only Damnation near me and I didn't get tickets..
Oh.
Yeah, it's Tuesday. Sue me.
I watched the 2013 film Metalhead last night, a great coming of age film on YouTube but has a million adverts which somewhat spoils it. Quite a good soundtrack but being based in the recent past it's all a bit dated.
Without giving too much away, amongst all the established metal tracks there's an original song produced just for the film. I thought at first it was a much more modern track passed off as their own (it's not) but it reminds me heavily of a female fronted black / crust metal band that I can't for the life of me remember who they are.
I've tried the excellent Svalbard and Torpor but it's not them so any other suggestions? Specifically with fairly clean (I think) northern European vocals.
Thanks
These guys are indigenous people from Chile, where, like many all over the world where immigration has meant their languages are being deliberately suppressed, are fighting back, which has meant literally having to relearn their own native language.
Hmm, not dodgy at all. Now, where's my collection of Jon Norman's 'Chronicles of Gor'...?
two old but gold.
Sunday is approaching, shortly followed by the 17th anniversary of the passing of one of the best humans I've ever known. So in an attempt to offset the spicy nostalgia I'd post some tunes that we used to blast on that tour.
Metal Adjacent Monday: a track featuring Joe Elliott that I can listen to without lunging for the off button!
If you want Death Metal, then Mayans are the boys…
