What's a good app for viewing huge text files in Windows eg 10s Mb or more.

I've downloaded less but its command line driven and doesn't make cut & paste very easy between windows.

Word, wordpad, notepad etc just grind to a hope opening the files.

+1 for textpad - been using it for 9 years now - excellent (and free) bit of software 🙂

Recently I've switched to Programmer's Notepad for my code editing duties. but I still keep textpad on standby for some stuff.

I use vim for all text editing but not sure it would be happy with 10Mb!

Is Vim the singlespeed of text editors?

I just don't see the appeal myself. Why use an editor where you need a manual to tell you how to delete characters?

It's not the most novice friendly of editors but is very powerful when mastered. I've been using vi since the 80's so it's in the blood 🙂

Another vote for Ultraedit, although Notepad++ isn't bad. And it's free.

VI, why not just go the whole hog and use Ed??

Or better still...
