Anyone know what this is? I'm not after buying it but it looks interesting! I don't recognise any of the brand names and the logos have been sanded off the frame.

Looks like a proflex, with Girvin fork. Circa mid to late 90s

I was gonna say proflex too, although mine had a flexstem, rather than those beasts.
Wasn’t that the one that was in ‘Dirt’?

Yup, Proflex with Girvin forks. I'd say late 90s, as it's got Noleen coil shocks on, rather than elastomer "springs"

756 mebbe?

It's a K2 rather than a Proflex surely?

Proflex was the name of the model range.
The original company was Offroad, then sold to K2 (unless it became just Proflex somewhere in between?)

I think it went to Proflex as a company name before being sold to K2

https://mmbhof.org/bob-girvin/

Im having memories of staring at a K2 Animal in Leisure Lakes for quite some time

Ended up with a Zaskar Le (frame) in the end

How does Facebook Marketplace work? Is there a benefit to listing something at £54,321?

Yes, obviously - he also seems to think it's worth a small fortune because it's a retro bike. There's full bikes on eBay for a few hundred...

I had a Proflex 856 with Pace RC35 forks. I designed and made a rising rate linkage for it and increased the rear travel to 125mm but could only afford RST Hi5 forks.

Was it Shockwave in West Bridgford who stocked Pro-Flex back then?

I remember going there to look at shiny stuff I couldn't afford as a teenager, then wandering across to Mansfield Road cycles to buy some shiny tat I could.

Sorry to ruin your day with a long link that no one else had any issues with but hope you feel better now you’ve pointed out how clever you are.

Actually, I thought it was a bit crap too ☹️

Just look for the “?” And delete all the rubbish after it

The stated price is just because he felt he had to put a number in, so he stuck 5-4-3-2-1 down and wants offers. I reckon £50 would cover it.
