Awww ****! That was a link to the Daily Mail!
Apologies
That needed a warning
she effectively been sacked for having differing views.
No, she was sacked for saying extremely offensive things that her employer’s customers objected to. There a plenty of people who think Donald Trump was a great president. I think they are wrong, but most of them are not offensive and don’t deserve to be sacked. Carano is an idiot. That’s why she was sacked.
I don't pretend to have read every single thing she's put out on Social media, but I haven't read anything that I would consider "extremely offensive". I disagree with a lot of it, I find some of it small minded, ignorant maybe and sometimes downright rude. Nothing has made me angry, thrown me into a fit of rage or made me cry. Nothing has stayed with me until the wee small hours, aghast that anyone would say something so vile. That's "extremely offensive"
And I can't imagine anyone would be.
That BBC piece is poor. It is feeding into the idea that she has lost the work because she supports Trump, and that is not the case.
Disney sacking someone for anti-Semitic views.

Apparently her employers weren't amused by the Nazi comparisons.

Actress Gina Carano will not return to her breakout role on the Disney Plus hit “The Mandalorian” following swift backlash to the actress sharing a social media post that implied conservatives in America are treated like Jews in Nazi Germany, the latest in a series of inflammatory online posts from the star.

Odd as it may seem, this isn't about you.
but I haven’t read anything that I would consider “extremely offensive”.
I think comparing being a Republican with the Holocaust is (under anyone’s definition) extremely offensive.
The full quote was
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbours... even by children... Because history is edited, most people today don’t realise that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbours hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
Her response to BLM was perfectly justified, Her response to Trans requests was badly judged and her views on Trump weren't clear, she in essence said only that a more transparent process in which it was absolutely clear to the public what had gone on during the vote would be in everyone's interest.
Let's face it, she's an MMA star, not a Nobel Laureate and has responded to many things like someone blessed with confidence and brawn who won't be bullied by anyone.
I for one don't believe that she's either a racist, an anti-Semite or even an ardent Trump supporter.
How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?
Well, the Jews weren't hated, persecuted, beaten and killed by the Nazis for their political views, were they? They were hated simply for being jews. What's the connection?
what she is saying is being a jew is much like being a republican is well like being gay or trans a lifestyle choice. :/
Here's an idea if you have those views & value future employment - don't mention it on a public forum where 1.6 million people will see them.
Not sure what the problem is with what she said, basically a railing against divisiveness, and where it can get us in extreme cases. @Kelvin, doesn't matter what the difference is, the analogy can still stand.

Jews weren't hated in Germany before the Nazi's made them hated. Republicans weren't HATED in the states before Trump. Many Republicans are hated, not for their religion, not for their skin colour, not for their background, but for simply being a Republican who's party is currently in the thrall of Trump.
How many Repubicans voted FOR Trump? How many simply voted against Biden? How many voted against Democratic politics? How many simply voted Republican because that's what they do?
"Jews weren’t hated in Germany before the Nazi’s made them hated."
Is there a STW prize for most ignorant comment of the year?
I know it's only February but that's got to be a contender.

I guess then you don't realise that until the advent of Hitler, Jews were thoroughly integrated into Germany, more so than many other European countries.
@inkster you saved me from writing a reply.
I don't understand why some employers don't take more care of their assets.
Its like footballers who drink drive. Sometimes you need to save people from themselves.
As someone earlier put, mma fighter, are we surprised.
I really liked her and thought her acting suited her character. Who will they replace her with? Or will she decide to wear a helmet now? Problem solved 🤣
@inkster +2.
How the hell her agent allowed her to stay on social media is beyond me, she's been heading this way for the last 12months.
And lets be clear, the republicans are not the victims, they are the aggressors who have been resisted and pushed back, the narrative she is spouting, even apart from the ridiculous comparison to genocide, is a trumpist lie.

How is my comment ignorant? from 1908-1933 antisemitism was a crime in Germany and was upheld rigorously, the Jews were integrated into most aspects of German society from science to politics and beyond.
Targeting and persecution of the Jews started in 1933 as a Nazi policy based upon rumor from 1914 that they were the enemy from within, etc.

Rascism is a hate crime in this country - but we have a racist Prime Minister
Except that we don't of course.
You're right of course brads - no doubt Boris's comments were taken 'out of context'...
Vocal opposition to political ideologies in the USA is not the same as the persecution of the Jews by the Nazis. Full stop. Some of you may have fun playing with the idea that it is… but we see you… we know what you are. Enjoy your games. Have a think about where they helping to take people though.
I'm not sure how this is more important than the adjustments made to Ahsoka's lekku. Please, take your Godwin squabbling elsewhere.
