"Eastern Approaches", the autobiography of Fitzroy Maclean, has to be the best. Founder member of the SAS, personal envoy of Churchill to Marshal Tito and the man on whom Ian Fleming based his character of James Bond. Oh, and to paraphrase Churchill he "abused the mother of all parliaments" ... before Blair, that is

You need to be reading Lofty Wiseman's SAS Survival Handbook if you want to increase you Man Skils. Still a good book to pass the hours with.

- Eight Lives Down by Chris Hunter
- Braver Men Walk Away by Peter Gurney

After watching the Pacific I thought I'd give the books ago that the series was based on, 'With the old breed on peleliu and okinawa' by EB Sledge Is an epic read and I highly recommend It.
'Helmet for my pillow' by Robert Leckie was a little harder to get into but a good read non the less.
My favourite Is still 'We were soldiers once and young' By Hal moore.

Here here. The Bucaneer one was very poor in comparison. A bit let down

Anyone know of any good factual books about the early days of the Russian space program?

Great book, read it then watch the film, and wonder why the films ends about half through the book. When the yanks are still winning:-)

Give Trusted Mole a read. that book stopped me in my tracks a few times.
