I'm learning how to make a website for the first time and am currently using NoteTab Light to edit my page.

However, I wondering if there are better editors out there and what stw recommends. Any suggestions?

Editra as a text editor as it properly formats the text for multiple types of coding. If you want a WYSIWYG editor then Ive always used Adobe Dreamweaver. Although recently Ive been just creating online at wix.com

MS Visual Something (Studio?) I used it when I was doing web stuff on a PC. Now I use BlueFish (Linux). Both let you organise work into projects and do syntax highlighting based on extension ( .css .htm etc)

If you're hand-rolling your own code, something like Notepad++ or TopStyle is good.

TBH though, most websites these days seem to be either WYSIWYG-generated or done using some form of CMS system like Joomla or, uh, the other one.
