Well I think I may have just killed my MacBook by spilling half a pint of water across it, it didn't all soak in, some ended up on the floor, plenty on the dining table and a little bit found my phone for good measure. It switched itself off after a few seconds. I've got it sealed in a bag with dry rice, what're the chances of it coming back to life? I do have it named on the insurance, but would rather not have to claim if possible. So tell me your positive stories of drowned electrical items coming back to life!

Mate of mine left a Sony mobile phone in his trouser pocket*, through a full wash cycle, totally dead when it came out.
Sat it in a bowl of rice for a few days in the immersion heater cupboard, worked fine for 4 or 5 years after it.

*not deliberately *
