So anyway, I have this friend and he's in a right pickle...

basically, he got a bit tangled up with a younger woman, but in the meantime, she has come to like a friend she's known for ages, which seems far healthier all round.

My friend wants the best for all involved and has done for sometime, but words of encouragement for the younger couple were taken the wrong way and things got a bit nasty.

This led to all sorts of unnecessary silliness that didn't do anyone any favours.

Previous to this, all involved were on friendly terms.

How does my friend clarify his intentions to help grease the wheels, so that everyone can move forward...

TBH I have no real idea what has happened in this soap opera
Is it an allegory for some other event ?

My interpretation - there's a batshit crazy bird involved, who hasn't got a clue what she wants, so whatever [s]you[/s] he [s]do[/s] does will absolutely never, ever be the right thing. Cut your losses and walk away from the car crash

Why do I think this is some contrived metaphor for international relations?

And why, on reading it all back, do I think you're trying to paint this silly little picture on to the Middle East?

If I've learnt one thing this year, it's if she can't decide between 2 people, make the decision for her and run to the hills.

I'm a bit confused.

OP, Is "your mate" the indoor boyfriend or the outdoor boyfriend?

A diner party with a bowl for keys?

And make sure it is in the media room, no pudding if anybody wont take part.

I play the triangle in a reggae band. I just stand at the back and ting.

This triangle would be far healthier if the OP's friend finds someone else so adding another side.

I honestly thought that this was going to turn in to some well-know film reference.

I'll have to ask him next time I see him...

Are any of them lizards ?

There may have been reptilian brains involved
