phone not worth any thing but need sim card

not in lost in my house but might be in another work van from today . but can not get his number to find out as its only on my mo . + boss now on holiday so no chance of getting it from him ! just want to know where it is and not been picked up by some chav

my daughter lost hers last week it was left in a taxi overnite (on the last run) ... chaos all nite we had with "mum find my fone" scenerio..
luckily the next morning out local taxi driver found it on the back seat on his first shift of the day.... phew.. thats was lucky..it was a Blackberry mobile.
If you know anyone with an iphone i think there is a phone tracker app which locates the phone number you put in by GPS. Obviously your phone would have to be on and the app might be just a gimmick and not actually work.
Pretty sure you'd need to do something on the other phone. You can do it with google maps or viewranger but the phone needs to OK it. Buy a new phone and copy the numbers onto it from your back-up... you have backed up?
I think you'll find the 'phone tracker' app is a spoof. The reviews are scathing, it's funny once...just.
