It's a surround sound amp that also does video...

There was also a MASSIVE 36" TV to go with it but we couldn't get it up the stairs at Castle Scum 🙁

Nice bit of kit. Had a 3802 back in the day. What are you plugging into it?

Denon. Good choice, a mate bought one of those last year with a 40" Bravia to go with it. I've got an old Yamaha DSP-AX2 which has almost as many connections on the back. Bl00dy nightmare if you have to take the system apart...

You are today's winner of the Geekness award...Congratulations. Clearly a product for a man, look it even has a "Caution" sticker on it.

If you hook it up wrong it will go critical and take out half of Lancashire.

Nice!
Good set of connections too!
Thought it was missing optical connectors, but then spotted em on RH side, all four of them.
Nicer than my Yamaha 750.

this must be well pre-HDMI. I figure I can plug the optical outputs from the TV and DVD player into it and drive all 6 speakers that came with it...

Error in your geekiness. It's called centre, not front. Plus it's a 7.1 amp so you've got surround l and r as well.

Pretty good for a freebie!
