MrsIHN is in that London tonight and tomorrow night, staying at the Mercure near Russell Square. Any recommendations for nice places to eat in that vicinity?

Any kind of food is fine, but ideally looking for ideas for those tucked-away kinda places you wouldn't really know were there rather than soulless chain stuff.

Some wonderfully crazy Ethopian restaurants at the bottom of Caledonian road

Or go to pedestrianised Exmouth market for a range of more conventional choices

Almost some nice places on Red Lions st (I think not 100% but in that area on those little streets)

What sort of price range? On her own or with others?

Leather Lane has awesome food, I love it down there. Cheaper end of the scale, but a great place

Eat Tokyo isn't far, nice little Japanese place

Pied à Terre & Roka (+ many others) on Charlotte Street a short walk away are both awesome. Explain the £40 limit and get them to split the bill in two if necessary / stay on tap water for a tasty high end treat 🙂
