I need to register the birth of my daughter so I phone up the local registrar office to make an appointment.

ME: Hello, I'd like to make an appointment for next friday.
BUREAUCRAT: Certainly. We are completely free. You can have any time between 9:00 and 16:00
ME: Great. 15:00 would be ideal.
BUREAUCRAT: You can't have 15:00. I'll book you in at 14:30.

14:30 is less than ideal. I should have asked for that in the hope of being offered 15:00.

Pah. They make me want to spit. I think i'll go and put something in the brown bin that should go in the blue one. That'll show them.

Our local slackers love business meetings at 3pm as we have an hour to travel to their offices and they all live local

Really, REALLY Hate Local Authorities - its just been one big experiment to turn little Hitlers into bigger ones!

I do a 'little' volunteer work for the council.
This involves going to a meeting at least twice a year.
The date and time was arranged, with a little note to say morning coffee/tea would be provided.
I walk in to find a full buffet style platter on the side. Closer inspection reveals, prawn sandwiches, ham and turkey too, non of this curled up processed cheese stuff.
All supplied by outside caterers.
I stuffed my face and left.
Mmmm now I know where our council tax goes.
