Looks like an absolute bargain though, £50,000 for a seat in the Lords. Surprised it's not on MoneySavingExpert.

@AD It might, it might not. If it gets a decent number of signatures then it might focus a few Labour Party minds that this stuff matters?

one new peer for each day and a half she was in office.

She "only" nominated three peers. The rest are various other awards.
Still impressive considering how many of those days in office she wasnt allowed to break anything due to the mourning period.

Yeah, you kind of forget that. 49 days is the headline figure for her time in number 10, but most of that time she wasn’t actually ‘in office’ after she Killed the Queen

Has anyone done the maths on how many tens of billions of pounds she cost the economy, per day, while actually ‘in power’?

And there are still a number of Tory MPs who are so unhinged, they would actually put her back in number 10 in a heartbeat.

Brexit: we need to take back control from the unelected elites!

Post-Brexit: thanks for supporting me and Brexit, have a seat as an unelected elite!

A damehood for someone who served as a junior minister for a month. A normal person would be too ashamed to accept.

Don't know about the economy overall but the absolute plummet in my pension investment coincided perfectly with her time in post and it's only now starting to claw it's way back , and very slowly at that. I'll be lucky to get back to parity in another two years at best.

Well she did throw him under the bus as soon as it became politically expedient, so there's that.

And the most annoying thing about that is that there’s not a shred of contrition or humility. Quite the opposite. She’s out there, chock full of entitlement and totally devoid of self-awareness telling anyone who’ll listen how she was right all along.

I can’t work out if she’s in some state of denial or she’s just genuinely so ****ing thick she actually still believes this rubbish her Tufton Street paymasters spout?

It’s both, isn’t it?

Been spending time with the older (Conservative) generation down in Cornwall, she came up in conversation a lot... several of them having met her and sat by her at meals... one even worked with her... all before she was PM... not a single one had a kind word for her... all said she understood absolutely nothing on any issue that came up... and blanked anyone who hid or didn't have power within the party. Those with a legal background the most scathing.

Let’s hope starmer does something about the HoL. I’m not going to hold my breath. Once he is in power he might see being able to stuff coronies in an advantage

@chrismac It’s not like we’ve not been burnt by Lab before on constitutional stuff - they made a manifesto commitment in ‘97 to introduce fair votes, then rolled it back as soon as they won a landslide on FPTP.

He should have withdrawn the whip from Mad Lizzie and Cruella but he didn’t because he hasn’t got the balls, because they have much more support amongst his backbenchers and he knows it

As for her bills for flights and catering, she seems to think she’s some kind of medieval monarch. One springs immediately to mind…

@binners ... So true...I never drew the parallel between thick lizzy and black adder! hahah! It's a perfect fit!

Her 'James Bond super villain' fancy dress (complete with black bear skin hat) during her russian visit was another classic but actual real-life...

I think Truss has based her public facing persona on Philomena Cunk!

Oooph.. on initial reading I thought "£1,400 per head" was fairly reasonable for a long flight, if you include security costs etc, as they are government officials etc...until I read further and that was just the bar tab!!!

Catering for the Australia flights in January 2022 cost £15,639 in total — 3.4 percent of the total £454,626.59 cost of the tickets.

it looks like the book is taking her legendary lack of self-awareness to terrifying new heights

In another extract she raises issues I’m sure we can all identify with

Is that a genuine extract from her book @binners?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again....not something that I say lightly, but I genuinely worry about her mental state.

Oh I love this sentence:

We ordered some of our own [furniture] but were evicted before it could be delivered

😂😂😂

I thought John Lewis did next day delivery...? Or does that not count when you have to get into Downing Street.
Anyway. Hahahaha.

@binners although I despise the woman, she does make some valid points in that extract.

We run the Prime Minister’s office in an amateurish manner, and then wonder why we get amateurish incumbents.

True, but the sense of entitlement that Truss has always displayed is absolutely off the scale.

Little Lord Sunak is even worse though,  but the pair of them cost us all an absolute fortune just with their preferred form of transport

Technically yes but in reality she was sacked.

Although of course this was at the instigation of the deep state and those all powerful lefties so shouldnt count.

I wonder if she kept the furniture so that when the entire nation falls to its knees (actually maybe not that might seem a bit black lives matters so how about genuflecting instead) begging for her to return to save us she wont have to wait to fit out number 10.

^^ I do wonder if she genuinely has some sirt of syndrome!

Imagine being so bad at ANY job that you crash and burn spectacularly within days and very publicly yet you go on to declare that you were right and everyone else was wrong.

Is Anti-Imposter Syndrome a thing?!😁

Not a chance. That would suggest the Conservatives aren’t now a hard right party. Not a message Sunak can be sending out if he wants to stay PM.

Looney Tunes Truss has just done a Newscast interview, worth listening if you want a chuckle.  Or feel the need to tear your hair out.

Deluded doesn't do it justice.
