78p for a load of liver (beef) couple of onions and a piece of pitta bread english mustard...mmmmm

Funny how a meal that costs less then £1.50 for 2 people tastes great and is also good for you.

Who here likes the liver ?

NB We only use rapeseed oil so even better for you.

Love beef or lambs liver, as long as it's still nice and pink inside.

Chicken liver and bacon salad is my favourite though.
Again, costs pennies, tastes amazing.

I try to eat lambs liver every two weeks. Used to stir fry it and that was good too.

Us girlies need our iron. 🙂

We got fed it at a 'VIP' day at a local rugby club.
It didn't really appeal to me so I asked if there was a vegie option.

"Aye son.....onions."

😀

I can't eat it at home as the other half doesn't like it. Can't get calves liver easily either so other reserved for a meal out.

Lambs liver Finley chopped
onion
Garlic
Chopped bacon
Tomato puree
Pinch of sugar
Salt and pepper.

Fry the Bacon until crispy
Add onion and garlic and fry nice and slowly so they caramelize a bit
Add the liver
At the end add a teaspoon or two of the Tommy puree, the sugar and the seasoning
Give it a good stir and serve with mash.

Mmmmmmmm

Slice the liver up carefully, removing any veins. Stir fry the small pieces quickly with coarsely chopped shallots. You want the outside to sear a bit without overdoing the inside, otherwise the texture goes wrong. Glug some red wine in at the last minute.

Serve with strong flavoured veg. I like crispy snap peas and mini sweetcorn on the cob. A bit of creamy mash is always welcome.

This is like a "dad's" thread... do you all get stuck with the parsons nose etc too? 🙂

Have vague memories of liver n onions as a kid with cabbage and mash n gravy but can't say I remember it fondly!
