Forget bombing Syria, the RAF should be looking closer to home.

It wouldn't be the first time - that woman in Dewsbury who staged the disappearance of her own daughter to try and get reward money when she was subsequently found got the idea from Shameless..

I thought you were going to be referring to this

😆

The canals around Oldham will now doubtless all be full of baskets.
I did like the snidey BBC middle class comment to finish the article

Waitrose said it had not introduced security tags on shopping baskets.

Which is clearly a coded message from Media City saying "please, please have some humanity and let us return to the home counties from this desolate northern outpost. Have you seen what we're having to endure?!"

Carrier bag manufacturers are weeping whilst basket manufacturers jump with joy...

Wonder what the environmental impact of dumping 1 basket is compared to 3 carrier bags???

Fair point. Even POWs were allowed to write home occasionally.

This happened in Wales for a time after we got the charge, people weren't stealing them per-se, they were reloading their shopping into baskets to take them to their car and then dumping them on the floor.

I've seen people wheeling trollies full of shopping home and taking the trolley back with then next time.

Sanity returned a few weeks after the charge started.
