What's going on with light bulbs? Moving out of rented accommodation and swapping my LEDs for the original bulbs, two of which blew straight away after flicking the switch.

These are normal 40W projector spotlights for the kitchen; nothing special. Tesco stock them but only at £3 each, and when I tried to buy one they refused to sell to me citing some sort of emergency recall. "But we can sell you a box of 4 for £9!"

Next stop, local electrical shop. Minimum purchase of £10 to pay by card. Screw that.

Can see myself ending up at B&Q which is 25 minutes drive away for two smegging bulbs.

you'll spend more than the £5 you'll save buying a single bulb on fuel for a 50 minute drive?

Minimum purchase of £10 to pay by card.

Pay by cash then.

Or buy the four for £9 from Tesco. Leave the other two for the incoming tenant. Sit back and enjoy the karmic rewards.

Or just put the led ones back in.

Tesco stock them but only at £3 each, and when I tried to buy one they refused to sell to me citing some sort of emergency recall. "But we can sell you a box of 4 for £9!"

So are you saying tesco had the bulbs on the shelf then refused to sell them to you?

Sounds like a conspiracy to me, sounds like a plot for a Bourne identity sequel.

Spotlights? Kitchen? Shadows? Maybe The Flying Spaghetti Monster is giving you a hint to get some proper lighting?

so you want to buy 2 at £3 each...ie £6. But refuse to buy 4 for £9 and a lot less hassle.

hmmmmm........

Do you drive a long way to try helmets on at a store and then go home and order online to save a few £? 😉 😆

Self scan checkout ?
Oh and when you have finished don't forget to turn the volume to max for the next customer 😀

So, you could buy 4 for £9 and sell 3 on Ebay for about £3 each. Apparently there's demand as Tesco won't sell singles, independants have a minimum on card purchases and it'll cost a fortune in petrol [s]flying[/s] driving to the nearest B&Q...
