Peroni in hand, a belly full of bbq food, looking out over Derwent Water in glorious sunshine. Oh and a bottle of Jura in the caravan with my name on it for when the sun goes down. Just waiting for Nero and the BBC Philharmonic on Radio 1

I know, Flashy. It's just appalling. The end of Civilisation as we know it... 🙁

No they were on Radio 1 not BBC 1 (that's a television channel don't you know 😉 )

Anyway after a beautiful day in Northumberland I enjoyed a very pleasant bottle of 2008 Berberana and some local cheese 😀

replace radio 1 (spit spit) with 6 music

replace the Peroni urine with some ale

and then, MAYBE you have my attention 😉

Anyone accusing me of being from Barnsley deserves a fat eye 😉

Does it matter what station it's on if it's good music?

Ah yes, of course it does in STW land...

Ah, good ole ernie, so completely forgetting the context of the rest of my post, you have a problem with my culinary choice for the evening?

It could just have well been a bottle of fanta and fish and chips wrapped in graseproof paper on a beautiful coastal vista. The culinary finery wouldn't have really mattered in the context of the whole ambience, but hey, lets not let missing the point totally get in the way of a snipe. Tit!

I'll ditch the bbq and get Ramsay to whip me up something special next time I want a pleasant evening.

Christ, so many cynics.

I'll only add, this thread is useless without pictures.

Not at all why would I ?.....it's you that's eating it.

"The culinary finery wouldn't have really mattered in the context of the whole ambience, but hey, lets not let missing the point totally get in the way of a snipe"

So if it ain't the food, what's so good about life.......it's not raining and you've seen some "glorious sunshine" ?

It was an all round pleasant evening ernie, that is all. Nothing more, nothing less. Thanks for your input though

Everyone deserves a nice time.

I would be asking myself, "Why are people not happy that I'm having such a nice evening?"

Well I've got to agree it's always nice when it stops pissing down......so yeah, I guess you're right, life is good - I hadn't really thought about it.

And I did have some stunning views from the roof I was working on this afternoon - I can't deny that.

And the tuna salad I had at lunch time was quite nice too.

Darcy - my apparent gloating, or their apparent bitterness?

I care little either way, but whichever your intended meaning, there are generally a couple of suspects that always seem to be the complete antithesis of anything pleasant, or admittedly sometimes not so pleasant that I have to say. I suppose my point being, they always seem to pop up, whatever the weather.

Tower Hamlets wants to sort out its mayor ...... he looks well dodgy to me.
