Do any of the STW massive have life insurance? What sort of cover is it and how long for?
I've been considering it for a while now, but haven't got around to it, but feel that with more responsiblity coming into the world I should really get some. I have no idea how much cover would be needed.
Last time I looked into it cover was about 40 quid a month for a payment of 100k if I carked it.
I should really get some for Mrs Q but I think her haemoglobin E will make it extorionate even though it's not really a problem.
I've got it, and it costs me over a hundred per month. But then the policy is quite significant.
I should add that I didn't have any for a long time, and when I was flying in a plane that I though was going to crash, it wasn't the dying I was afraid of; it was leaving my wife and kids destitute.
we have two policies, one linked to the mortgage and one independent. if either of us die the other gets the market value of the house in a lump sum and about 10k a year for life.
A good friend of mine dies last year unexpectedly, he had nothing, his wife and two young kids are struggling now.
How long is your policy over and is it a fixed payment or decreasing (if you don't mind me prying).

Just looked at one of the comparrison websites and found that 500k is around 30 quid a month.
I feel the broker who I spoke to last time may have been trying it on.
